ABOUT EXAM

The GIPSA Officer Promotion Exam is a departmental competitive examination conducted in Public Sector General Insurance Companies (New India, National, Oriental, and United India) to promote eligible employees to higher officer scales. The exam ensures merit-based promotions and uniform selection across GIPSA companies.

The exam is conducted entirely online (CBT) and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) based on the syllabus notified for each scale. The pattern typically includes 100 questions for 100 marks with no negative marking and a duration of 90 minutes.

Questions are divided across subjects like insurance, underwriting, claims, accounts, HR, IRDAI regulations, CDA rules, manuals, and company guidelines. The qualifying marks are fixed by GIPSA each year, and the merit list is prepared scale-wise based on the total score and vacancy position. Successful candidates become eligible for promotion after completing other internal formalities and training requirements.
